If nothing is on: a shoulder-season weekend

Spring and fall are the shoulder seasons: parking is easy, patios open on warm afternoons, and the lakeshore path is at its quietest. The beach guide covers the waterfront, parking rates and the provincial park; the golf guide compares the five courses if the weather holds.

For eating and staying, start with restaurants and cafes, shops on 50 Street and Lakeshore Drive, and the hotels compared by feature. The weekend itinerary puts it together as a Friday-to-Sunday plan.
